WHEN DOES MY PASS BEGIN AFTER I SIGN UP?
Annual Passes are activated within 24 hours of purchase. The Bike Chattanooga team will send you a bike share key in the mail. Want to ride sooner? As soon as you’ve purchased a Pass, you can get ride codes through the Transit App. See Get the Apps for more information.
HOW DO I ACTIVATE MY BIKE SHARE KEY?
Once you receive your bike share key, log into your account on the Bike Chattanooga website, and click on the activate link. The ID code on your bike share key is right below the barcode. Contact Customer Service if you need help.
CAN I RIDE EVEN IF I DON’T HAVE MY BIKE KEY?
Yes. You can get ride codes on the Transit App if you don’t have your bike key with you. See Get the Apps for more information
WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE A CREDIT CARD?
You must have an active credit card on file to register for an Annual Pass. Debit cards are accepted for Access Passes only.
CAN I TAKE OUT MORE THAN ONE BIKE WITH MY BIKE KEY?
No. Annual Pass holders may use only one bike at a time. Access Passes can be purchased at any station for other riders who would like to use Bike Chattanooga.
DOES BIKE CHATTANOOGA OFFER ANY DISCOUNTED MEMBERSHIPS?
Yes. See Corporate and Community Pass Program and Conference Pass Program for information on discounts for employees and members and bulk purchase discounts.
DOES BIKE CHATTANOOGA HAVE STUDENT PASSES?
No, but if your school is enrolled in our Corporate and Community Pass Program, subsidized Passes may be available to you. See Corporate and Community Pass Program for more information.
WHEN WILL I GET MY BIKE SHARE KEY?
Once you sign up for an Annual Pass through the Bike Chattanooga website, you should receive a bike share key via mail in 2-3 business days. If you don’t receive your bike share key, please contact Customer Service. You can ride as soon as you sign up for an Annual Pass by using the Transit App to get ride codes.
HOW DO I TAKE OUT A BIKE WITH MY BIKE SHARE KEY?
Insert your bike share key into the slot on the dock. A yellow light will appear, and then the light will turn green. When the green light appears, the bike is unlocked, and you can remove the bike from the dock. If a red light appears, remove the key, wait for the light to turn off, and try again.
If you’re not getting any light at all when you insert your bike share key into the slot on the dock, make sure your bike share key has been activated. If your bike share key is activated and you need help, contact Customer Service.
WHY DO I NEED TO KEEP AN ACTIVE CREDIT CARD ON FILE?
Since usage fees are incurred for rides longer than 60 minutes or for lost bikes, every member must have an active credit card on file. See Pricing for more information. To avoid disruption in service, please log into your account and update your information if your address changes or your credit card expires.
CAN I LEND MY BIKE KEY TO SOMEONE ELSE?
No. Monthly, Annual, and Access Passes cannot be shared and are not transferrable. As the account holder, you are responsible for any usage fees or lost bike fees if you lend your bike share key to a friend. Each rider must have their own Pass to check out a bike.
HOW DO I RENEW MY ANNUAL PASS?
Pass holders are registered for auto-renewal when you sign up for an Annual Pass. The card on file will be billed the day before your Pass expires, so there is no stoppage in service.
For Pass holders who turn off auto-renew in their accounts, log into your account and click “Renew.”

HOW CAN I MAKE SURE MY BIKE WAS DOCKED CORRECTLY?
Match the triangle on the front of the bike with the dock and insert the bike. If a green light appears, the bike has locked into the dock, and your ride has ended. If a red light appears, the bike has not been locked into the dock. If no light appears, the bike has not been locked into the dock. If a red light or no light appears, remove the bike from the dock and try re-inserting the bike into the dock. If you have trouble docking your bike, call Customer Service at 888-925-4415.
