BAY AREA, May 8, 2018 – To celebrate Bike to Work Day, rides on any Ford GoBike in San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville or San Jose — including the popular new ebikes in San Francisco — will be free on Thursday, May 10, thanks to a partnership between Ford GoBike and GenZe.
Riders can download and open the Ford GoBike app on Thursday, May 10, to receive a free Access Pass, normally $10. The Access Pass entitles the user to unlimited 30-minute rides on thousands of bikes in the Bay Area for a 24-hour period.
“We want the Bay Area to experience eco-friendly, fun rides on Ford GoBike this Bike to Work Day, and that’s why we are providing free Access Passes to all on May 10,” said Emily Stapleton, Ford GoBike General Manager. “In less than a year since launch, Ford GoBike has had more than one million trips, and we are thrilled to partner with GenZe to bring bike share to even more people on Bike to Work Day this year.”
Working with GenZe, Ford GoBike recently added pedal-assist ebikes to the bike share network in San Francisco. The new ebikes, branded as Ford GoBike Plus, can be unlocked via a Clipper card or the Ford GoBike app and docked at any Ford GoBike station in San Francisco. Riders of a range of ages and fitness levels can now boost their natural pedal power to summit the notorious San Francisco hills and more fully enjoy the benefits of bike share.
